• What is an Internet Fax Service

  • Internet  fax service allows you to send and receive faxes without you having a fax machine, phone line or fax phone number.  Our service provides you the capability to send and receive faxes using an internet connection and your email.

     

    What other features besides sending and receiving faxes are available?

    Besides sending and receiving faxes, your account has many included options to offer you ways to manage and send  faxes and documents online. A brief list of the included features are:

    • Online Inbox - unlimited storage for your incoming faxes. The Inbox stores the fax in your account as a backup to the email delivery of the fax
    • Filing Cabinet - Create folder and store any type of file online in your account. There is a free amount of storage with your account and an optional upgrade for additional storage
    • PDF Converter - Your account has a free convert feature that will convert different file types to a PDFf file format
    • Digitized Signature - Apply your digitized signature to a fax in the Inbox or a file stored in your Filing Cabinet. You can also apply text to the fax / file. This is a web based feature that does not need you to install software
    • Email Links - Send an email with a link to a file that you store in your account. The recipient access the document when clicking on the link in the email. You receive a return receipt by email for confirmation when the file is viewed.. This is a free feature and does not use any fax pages

     

    Which Subscription Plan should I choose?

    Explain the different plans

    The subscription plans are based upon the type of fax number, (toll-free or a local number) , the number of included fax pages for sending and/or receiving faxes and the billing cycle period(monthly or yearly). You can choose a plan that fits your needs whether you are an infrequent faxer, small or medium business or a high volume faxer.

     

    Are there any setup or activation fees?

    There are no setup or activation fees. The price for the subscription plan is the total cost. There are additional options available if you wish to purchase, such as additional fax pages beyond the included fax pages in your account or additional storage in the Filing Cabinet.

     

    Can I change my plan later?

    You can change your subscription plan at any time. Your account is prorated  when you change and any credit issued is applied to the new plan. Changing a plan from one toll-free number plan to another toll-free number plan will not change your fax number. Only the billing date and amount charged changes. The same is true when changing a local number plan to another local number plan.

     

    Are local fax numbers restricted in any way and would do I pay long distance charges when sending?

    The local fax number is the location of your fax number and does not restrict where you can send and receive faxes. You are not charged extra to send faxes from outside the calling area of the local number as long as it is within the US and Canada. You can receive faxes from anywhere in the world using the included pages in your subscription plan.

     

    Are there any extra charges for having a toll-free number plan?

    There are no additional charges for a toll-free number. The is no setup, activation or page charge for receiving a fax on a toll-free number. Your included account fax pages are used to receive faxes.

     

    Where can a toll-free number accept faxes?

    Toll-free numbers can accept faxes from all 50 US states and Canadian area codes.

     

    Are the pages in a yearly account based upon monthly usage?

    No, The pages in the yearly account are for the year. There is no monthly allocation of fax pages for a yearly account. It truly is a yearly account.

     

    Is there a long term contract to use your service?

    There are no commitments or contracts. You can cancel the account at anytime.

     

    Trial Accounts

    What is the free Trial?

    The trial account allows you to test the service and functionality prior to paying for the service. The trial account is limited to 5 fax pages to send and receive faxes. Outgoing faxes are watermarked as a demo. The trial account allows you to access all the features of the service included in an paying account without paying for your account. Any account that you create will start as a trial account unless you bypass the trial when you signup. You can end your trial at any time

     

    Can I just pay for fax pages during the trial?

    There are no charges to you with a trial account. You are not able to purchase more pages for the free trial. You are only charged the subscription plan fee when the trial ends.

     

    What happens to faxes that are over the trial account limit?

    The faxes are stored in your Inbox until there are pages available to delivery the fax. Faxes that are more the pages available in the trial has a status of not enough pages. Activating and ending the trial account will change the status and delivery the faxes.

     

    Can I end the trial account before the 30 days?

    You can end the trial account period at any time prior to the 30 days. Login to your account and click on the link "Click to set your account liver" link located on the left side of the page. A window will appear with the options to activate the account now or do not activate.

     

    I am restricted to where I can send or receive a fax during the trial?

    Trial account allow you to send and receive faxes to the US and Canada. Sending an International fax (outside of the 50 US states and Canada) is not allowed with a trial account.

     

    Do I need to start a subscription plan as a trial account?

    You can bypass the trial account during signup and start immediately with the subscription that you chose at the start of signup. The bypass trial option is found on the last page of the signup when you enter credit card information. Check the box "click to bypass trial". Your account will start with a paying subscription rather than the trial account.

     

    What happens if I do not cancel the free trial account after the 30 day trial account period?

    After 30 days the trial account is automatically activated to the subscription plan you chose when your originally signed up. If you do not want the account to activate you need to login to the account to cancel the service. Cancelling the account online is accomplished in the billing section of your account.

     

    Does my fax number change when I activate and end the trial?

    The fax number remains the same. Your assigned fax number will not change when you end the trial.

     

    Receiving a fax

    Are incoming faxes sent to my email?

    Incoming faxes are sent to your email. You can have up to 10 email addresses where  faxes are delivered. The file format of the new can be a PDF or TIF file format. A copy of the emailed fax is also stored in your account Inbox.

     

    How many email addresses can receive incoming faxes?

    You can have 10 email addresses listed in your account where an incoming fax is delivered. You add the additional email addresses after you create the account. Login to your account. click on Account Info button and the Preferences tab. In the email notification section click on the modify list link to add and delete email addresses.

     

    I am charged for additional email addresses?

    You are not charged to have a fax sent to multiple email addresses. You are only charged for the fax pages received and not for delivery of the fax to email address(es).

     

    Is there a backup copy of the fax email to me?

    Yes. Your account has an Inbox where all faxes that are emailed to you are stored. Login to your account and click on Inbox to access a copy of the faxes that were emailed to you. The Inbox has unlimited storage for incoming faxes.

     

    Can I receive confidential faxes and ensure that the information is kept private?

    Your account is a secure account. When a fax arrives a copy of the fax is stored in your Inbox. which is accessed with a username and password over a secure 128 bit encrypted connection. You have 5 different options for an email notification of a new fax. The default is an attachment in a email. Attachments are not a secure method to receive a fax. You can change the email notification to a secure method in your account preferences. You can choose from an email telling you to login to your secure account to retrieve the fax, an email with a direct link to the fax which will open a secure web page to view, print and download the fax , or a password protected direct link for additional security. to access the fax on a secure web page.

     

    I can not view a fax, the status is "Not Enough Pages". What do I do?

    Your account will accept faxes even if your account does not have fax pages available. Your account sends you an email to notify you that there is a fax waiting in your account but there are not enough pages available in the account. If the account is a trial, you will need to activate the account and the fax will be delivered. If you have a paying account, you have run out of pages and the auto purchase for additional fax pages did not go through or was turned off. You can manually purchase additional fax pages by logging into your account and click on the add credit link in the upper left corner. Select the amount of fax page credit - the minimum is $5. Additional pages are deducted at 10 cents a page from the additional fax page credit. You may need to update your credit card information in your billing section if the purchase for additional pages or activating your account does not work.

     

    Send a Fax

    What ways can I send a fax?

    You can send a fax using your email and the account website. See the User Guide for the steps to email to fax and web to fax steps.

     

    How do I send a fax suing the website?

    Login to your account and click on Send. Complete the form and attach a file from your computer. You can send multiple documents and select the order in which they are faxed. If you wish to send the same fax to multiple fax numbers, separate the fax numbers with a comma.

     

    What file formats are supported?

    There are many different file formats. The following are supported:

    How do I send a fax using my email?

    Your account allows you to send a fax using any email address.  The email to fax requires that you add two identifiers in the body of the email for security purposes.. The identifiers are the account username and the email to fax code found in your account info - preferences. The identifiers are used to ensure that someone else is not able to send faxes from your account using their email. There are detailed instructions in your account user guide.

     

    Can I still send faxes even if I run out of included account pages in your account?

    You can create the fax job but you will need fax pages to send the fax. You can purchase additional fax pages or have your account auto purchase fax page credit to be used for sending the fax.

     

    Can a schedule a fax to be sent in the future?

    Yes. Your account allows you to schedule a fax up to 45 days in advance. To schedule a fax from the website, login and click on Send. Complete the form to send the fax and attach any files. click on the schedule fax button and select the date and time for the fax schedule. You can change the schedule after the scheduled fax is created in the tracking section and click on scheduled faxes.

     

    Does it cost extra to send a fax long distance?

    Your account uses the included fax pages and does not charge extra to send fax within the US and Canada. Sending a fax outside of the US and Canada is considered an international fax and is charged at the per page rate for that country. The minimum purchase for international faxing is $5 and the unused portion will remains in your account.

     

    Do I have to send a coversheet and does a coversheet cost extra?

    You can select to send a coversheet or not. All fax pages are counted when faxed. The coversheet information can be changed in your account under the account info - coversheet section.

     

    Does the outgoing fax go to a person's email or a fax machine?

    Your account is an Internet fax service and you can send a fax using your email or your account website but the outgoing fax will be sent to the recipient's fax machine.

     

    The account send page also has an "email to" field. What is that for?

    your account can send a file to a recipient's email rather than sending the file to a fax machine. The recipient will get an email that contains a link to the file which is stored in your account. When the recipient clicks on the link to view the file, you receive an email notification as a confirmation that they have viewed the file. The "email to" field on the send page is optional and not necessary if you want to only fax a file to a recipient. Using this feature will not use any fax pages. This function is not limited in the number of times of use. It is unlimited but you will have to have enough storage in your Filing Cabinet to store the file. The file that you gave access to in the email is stored in your Filing Cabinet folder called Email Link Files. The link in the email gives the recipient access to only that file that you emailed.

     

    Can I send a fax to more than one fax number at a time?

    You can enter up to 15 fax numbers at a time directly to the send page. Or you can send to more than 15 fax numbers at a time if you use the address book to select the fax number of  your contacts. The address book can hold unlimited number of contacts and your can organize the contacts into groups to simplify  the sending to multiple fax numbers.

     

    If the fax number is busy, will it automatically retry?

    Your account will auto try a fax 4 times before the fax fails. You can adjust the number of attempts in your account info - preferences section.

     

    How do I know a fax was sent?

    Your account has an online tracking that displays the status of fax. You can also turn on a email notification in the account info - preferences section in your account. The tracking will a status of success if the fax was transmitted and accepted by the receiving fax machine.

     

    What at the different statuses on the tracking page?

    • Success - fax sent and received
    • Max Attempts - your account attempted to fax and the fax was not accepted. Receiving fax was busy, not a good fax number or answered by a human. You can click on the max attempts link to see the reason and also to have your account retry the fax
    • Fax Error - the fax failed to be sent. Could be a problem with the file and preparing the file to be faxed. Click on the Fax Error link to see the reason for the failure
    • Queued - in the process of sending the fax
    • Converting - the file is being converted into a fax

    You can click on refresh to update the page and see the current fax status.

     

    Is a Fax header sent on the outgoing fax?

    Outgoing faxes are identify the send by the coversheet or by a fax header added to the outgoing fax. The fax header contains your account number and date/time. It also contains either the company name or first/last name that you entered on your account info - coversheet section.

     

    Billing

    My credit card charge failed. How do I update the credit card?

    Updating the credit card on a suspended account is done upon logging into the account. The credit card update page appears. Upon updating and and a successful charge to your credit/debit card, you will continue to your account. If the charge fails, you are prompted to enter a different credit/debit card.

    You can change the credit/debit card in your account at any time in the account info -billing section \

     

    If my account is suspended due to a problem with my credit or debit card, what happens to incoming faxes?

    Your account will store the next 5 faxes in your account. Upon the next successful billing, the faxes will be delivered to you.

     

    Do I receive a receipt when I am billed?

    Yes you are emailed a receipt upon all purchases. You can also review your billing history and print out receipt within your account. Login to your account and click on Account Info - billing. Click on the Payment History link to view and print out each month's billing. The receipt is emailed to the email address on the account info - coversheet page.

     

    Where can I find the number of pages I used during this billing cycle?

    After logging into your account, your account page usage can be found in a couple of places. The upper left corner has a count down of the pages remaining in the billing cycle. Account pages are for sending and/or receiving and the local incoming pages are the for receiving a fax with a local number plan.

    You can also see the total usage for the billing cycle in your account info - billing section. Your tracking page will show you the history of fax page sent and receive along with information about each fax.

     

    What is fax page credit?

    Fax page credits are used for additional fax pages when you run out of pages in your subscription plan or are faxing internationally (outside of the US and Canada). Domestic send/receive deducts 10 cents a page from fax page credit. International faxing deducts the per page rate for the country.

     

    What is an account credit?

    An account credit is a monetary credit that can be used for any purchase in your account.

     

    I have a yearly account but my billing shows a monthly billing for the Inbox and Filing Cabinet?

    The Inbox and Filing Cabinet are monthly features that can be turned on/off each month.

    The Inbox stores incoming faxes and is free with your account. You can remove the free inbox in your account info - billing section.

    The Filing Cabinet can store any type of file and has folder to manage files. There is a free amount of storage with your account or up can choose to purchase additional storage if you wish. You can also remove the Filing Cabinet from your account.

     

    Password and Login

     

    How do I reset my account Password?

    From the login page there is a link called forgot password. Click on the link and follow the steps. You will need to know the account username and answer to the password reset question. You will receive an email to the email address listed in your account info - coversheet page to complete the password reset. If the email address has changed you will need to contact support to assist you with password reset.

     

    I forgot my username. How do I retrieve the username on my account?

    You will need to contact support for assistance.

     

    When I login, I see an error message that "for security reasons your session has expired". What do I do?

    Your account login requires that a  cookie is set. Your browser is not allowing your account to set a cookie. You will need to allow the browser to set a cookie for the website. You can contact support for assistance if you are not familiar with changing your browser setting.

     

     

    Cancelling an Account

    How do I cancel the account?

    Your account has an online cancellation located in the billing section. Login to your account and click on account info and billing. Click the link "click to cancel your account" and complete the short form. Your account is cancelled immediately upon completion. Your fax number will not accept further faxes and you will not be able to login to the account.

     

    Can I  cancel the account today for a future date?

    All cancellations are immediate. You are unable to set the cancellation to take place for a future date.

     

    Am I charged a fee to cancel or are there additional charges when I cancel an account?

    There are not charges to cancel an account. There are no further charges once you cancel an account. All billings are in advance so there will not be any balanced owned on an account with credit/debit cards.

     

    System Requirements

    Your account works with a Windows PC or a MAC. Depending upon the type of computer determines which browser you should use to access your account.

    Windows PC users should use:

    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.1 or higher
    • Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or higher
    • Netscape 7.0 or higher

    MAC using OSX 10.2 or higher should use:

    • Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or higher
