Storing Documents

The FILING CABINET is used to store documents. A document is stored in a folder  within the Filing Cabinet. There is no limit to the number of folders you can have in your Filing Cabinet. Neither is there a limit to the number of documents you can have in a single folder. There is, however, a limit on the amount of storage space for your filing Cabinet which is determined by the storage amount that you have with the type of subscription.  There is a free storage limit with all accounts and you can purchase additional storage if desired.

The Filing Cabinet should not be confused with the Inbox. The Inbox is an unlimited storage for incoming faxes. The Filing Cabinet is limited in storage and allows you to store file, documents, photos and fax in folders.

There are two ways to put a document in a folder within the Filing Cabinet:

Moving A Document

Moving a document transfers a file from the INBOX to a folder in the FILING CABINET.

  1. Open the inbox by clicking on ‘Online Inbox’ in the main window or ‘Inbox’ on the left hand nav bar.
  2. Select a document(s) in the Inbox by clicking on the box located to the left of the file name.
  3. Click the Move button located at the top of the document list. The “Move Selected Document to:” window appears.

  4. Select a folder by clicking the arrow on the scroll window. If no folders exist, you must create a new folder in the Filing Cabinet.
  5. Highlight the folder.
  6. Click the Move button that is located at the bottom of the window.

Uploading A Document

Upload is copying a document from your computer to your account. You can upload any type of file, document, or photo into a folder in Filing Cabinet.

  1. Click on FILING CABINET. A list of folders appears.
  2. Click on a folder to which you wish to upload a file.
  3. Click Upload. The TrustFax file up loader window appears.

  4. Browse to the file on your computer and select the file(s) you wish to upload.
  5. Click Open. The file name will then be listed in the upload window. Click ‘Upload’ to copy the file to your account.
